How to Use a French Press to Make the Perfect Coffee

How to Use a French Press to Make the Perfect Coffee 3

A French press is a coffee maker that uses a filter to keep the coffee grounds separate from the brewed coffee.

The filter sits inside a glass or ceramic vessel, which is then placed in a larger container of hot water. The hot water is poured into the French press through a spout on top of the glass.

When the water reaches the coffee grounds, it filters through the coffee grounds and collects at the bottom of the glass. The coffee is then ready to drink. A French press is an excellent way to make a single cup of coffee, but it can also be used to make multiple cups of coffee.

Making Perfect cup of French cup coffee every time! Method

1. Heat the water to boiling.

The French press is typically made with a ratio of one cup of coffee for every four ounces of water, but feel free to experiment! Place your desired amount of grounds into the ceramic chamber and pour in just over half the hot water you’ll be using. Let it sit for thirty seconds before pouring in the rest of your water.

2. Give it a stir and place the lid on tightly before twisting to lock in place. This method can lead to some buildup at the bottom, so periodically hold it up high then down low (without hitting anything) or tap against something sturdy like a countertop for about ten seconds each time you use it until all grounds are fully saturated with hot liquid.

3. Steep for four minutes by placing the French press over top of an empty mug that’s sitting on saucer or dish rack – not directly onto any surface! Pressing down is optional and may result in more bitterness if done too soon after adding water since there will be less room for coffee solids to escape from pressure points .

4. After four minutes, press the plunger down and enjoy your coffee! If you want to make more servings in a row or refill cups for other people while it’s still hot, just place another mug on top of the lid until everything is ready.
